Man charged with attempted murder in West Ashley shooting

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The U.S. Marshals Task Force has arrested a man accused of firing a gun in the direction of a man walking down a street in West Ashley.

Bryan Singleton, 38, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, jail records show.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on August 2 in the area of ​​Main Road and Bees Ferry Road in West Ashley.

According to an accident report, Singleton was driving on Main Road when he rolled down his window and approached a man walking on the side of the road.

The victim told officers that Singleton drove off and turned around to yell at the man. As the victim approached the vehicle, Singleton pointed a gun out the window at the victim, fired one shot and sped away.

The incident report states that the man was not hit by gunfire.

Charleston County Sheriff’s Deputies requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in their investigation.

A search warrant was obtained and Singleton was arrested at a home in the Cane Bay area on Friday, the incident report states.

Singleton was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
