Human remains found in Boulder County

BOULDER COUNTY, Colorado (KKTV) – The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said it was notified around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning of possible remains found near County Road 71.

The sheriff’s office said an examination of the remains in the 1000 block of Blue Mountain Road, northwest of the city of Lyons, confirmed that they were indeed human remains.

The sheriff’s office said the death was suspicious, but that they do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Due to the condition of the remains, they were unable to provide the gender of the deceased person. The sheriff’s office said the Boulder County Coroner’s Office will work to identify the person.

The Lyons Fire Department, Boulder Emergency Squad, Boulder County Coroner’s Office and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

The sheriff’s office said the case number for this investigation is 24-04920.
