Wear OS 5 is being distributed

If you don’t own a Pixel Watch 3 (here’s our review), you might have one of its predecessors on your wrist. There’s good news. The Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2, which run WearOS 3.5 or WearOS 4.0, will receive the September 2024 software update starting today, which includes the upgrade to Wear OS 5. The rollout will take place in phases over the next few weeks, depending on the provider and device. Users will receive a notification on their watch as soon as the OTA update is available for their device.

The September 2024 software update includes an upgrade to Wear OS 5, including new features, numerous bug fixes, and performance improvements for Pixel Watch users. Additionally, app updates will be available through the Play Store for the Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 to bring the grid view app launcher, improved camera controls, and Pixel Recorder functionality.
