Wukong’s Xbox Series X/S version delayed indefinitely due to memory leak – Rumor

Black Myth: Wukong was released last week and is enjoying huge popularity. Not only did it receive solid critical acclaim and record-breaking engagement numbers on Steam, but it even sold a whopping 10 million copies at launch. Those on Xbox Series X/S, however, have had to watch from the sidelines, and now more alleged details have seemingly emerged as to why that is.

Before the release of the action RPG, developer Game Science confirmed that the Xbox release had been delayed due to technical issues. Well-known Xbox leaker eXtas1s now claimed on Twitter that this was a memory leak that led to significant crashes and performance issues.

The game has therefore been postponed indefinitely and Game Science is currently working on a solution. It is claimed that Black Myth: Wukong is otherwise “almost ready” for an Xbox release, but it is currently unknown how long it will take to fix the memory leak issue mentioned above.

Given the sales that Black Myth: Wukong and the positive impact it has had on PS5 hardware sales, one could assume that Microsoft is also hoping to release the game on its consoles as soon as possible. After all, Microsoft lost out after losing to the similarly successful Baldur’s Gate 3 Given the hype and success of its launch last year, a similar situation is likely to be more than just frustrating for the company.

Black Myth: Wukong is available on PS5 and PC.
