Austria’s tennis legend Thomas Muster is parting with his most important trophies. The campaign will support the families of former tennis stars in need.

Thomas Muster is a legend in Austrian sport. The now 56-year-old celebrated his greatest success in 1995 when he defeated the American Michael Chang in three sets at the French Open in Paris and became the first Austrian to win a Grand Slam tennis tournament.

The Styrian proudly lifted the trophy with the catchy name “Coup des Mousquetaires” into the sky. And Muster now wants to auction off this trophy and a few others for a good cause.

So he has decided to part with the Paris Trophy and the trophies for his position as number one in the world, as well as all eight of his Masters titles.

Donation proceeds will help families

Anyone who has always wanted to have one of the most important tennis trophies in their display cabinet at home can now do so. The auction will run from October 8th to November 3rd via the “Aurena” auction platform.

The proceeds go to the Ö3 Christmas Miracle, a fundraising campaign that benefits the “Licht ins Dunkel” emergency aid and families in need.

“At home, they would end up gathering dust somewhere.” “With the donations, we can hopefully provide crucial help to those who have not had it so good,” says Muster, hoping that tennis fans will be willing to donate.
