SPD: 2 adults and 2 teenagers charged with break-ins at discount stores

SUMTER, SC (WOLO) – Two adults and two 14-year-olds have been charged in connection with burglaries at a discount retail store, Sumter police said.

According to police, the four people are accused of breaking into a Dollar General on North Lafayette Drive on September 5 and 13.

The break-in caused damage to the building and food, tobacco products and other goods worth several hundred dollars were stolen.

Jakarion Keener, 18, and Deonta Cooper, 19, each face two counts of second-degree burglary (violent), criminal conspiracy and inducement of minors to commit crimes, and one count of possession of burglary tools.

One of the juveniles is charged with two counts of second-degree violent burglary and criminal conspiracy.

And another teenager is charged with second-degree burglary (violent) and criminal conspiracy, according to Sumter police.

Both were taken to a state juvenile court facility. Officials are still investigating the case.
