Quarterback legend Favre suffers from Parkinson’s disease

Brett Favre announced his Parkinson’s disease before the US Congress.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback testified at the welfare embezzlement hearing in Washington DC. The American football legend confirmed that he was only recently diagnosed with the disease.

The hearing concerns a total of $77 million that was diverted from the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program.

1.1 million dollars already repaid – state wants interest

Also discussed were the eight million dollars that went to Favre, the University of Southern Mississippi and Pervacus – a biotech company in which the former quarterback invested.

The 54-year-old is said to have paid back $1.1 million in speaking fees after learning that they had been paid from welfare money. However, the state is demanding interest.
