30 o’clock press conference on the cold case

LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – Authorities say they will provide an update Tuesday on the investigation into the 1985 murder of Terry Dolowy.

A joint press conference with the Monroe County District Attorney, Vernon County District Attorney, Vernon County Sheriff and La Crosse County Sheriff is scheduled for Tuesday.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Terry Dolowy was reported missing on February 14, 1985 by her fiancé, Russell Lee.

The two lived in the city of Barre, La Crosse County.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reported that on February 18, 1985, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a fire in a culvert on Mohawk Valley Road, about 6 miles south of La Crosse.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, authorities found the burning body of Terry Dolowy at that location. Her body was found decapitated and burned with accelerant.
