Nordenham – The players of TK Nordenham, who play in the tennis district league, have crowned the summer season with a title win. After 2022, they won the TNB club cup for the second time. On the final day in Hanover, they surprisingly defeated TC Gelb-Rot Eintracht Hildesheim 2-1 in the second performance class category (LK 7 to LK 25).

Without a fight

In contrast, the male TKN colleagues gave up their chances in the final of the men’s consolation round from performance class one to performance class 25 without a fight because they also did not compete against TC GRE Hildesheim due to line-up problems.

Clearer outsiders

As a district league team, the Nordenham team were clear underdogs against the newly promoted regional league team from Hildesheim. However, the TKN entered the team with a team that was reinforced by former TKN player Luisa Auffarth (LK 8.0) who plays for the newly promoted upper league team SVE Wiefelstede.

Auffarth then had the opposing top player Patrice Meyer (LK 9.6) firmly under control and won 6:1/6:1. Since in the meantime the TKN regular formation Vivien Zobel/Jana Okrey (LK average 14.6) had lost to the Hildesheim duo Lena Singelmann/Maren Coors (LK average 13.4) with the same result, the entire responsibility rested on Paula Knupe-Wolfgang (LK 13.3).

She had won the first round in the same time against Louisa Stettnisch (LK 9.6) by a narrow margin of 7:5. But with the set lead behind her, she gave her opponent no chance in the second round and secured the TKN’s second TNB Cup victory within three years.

TKN: Luisa Auffarth 6:1, 6:1; Paula Knupe-Wolfgang 7:5, 6:1; Vivien Zobel/Jana Okrey 1:6, 1:6.
