“Independently of each other, break-ins were reported in three single-family homes on different streets,” said police spokeswoman Melanie Roeber. “Unknown suspects broke into the houses by prying open patio doors or windows and ransacked them.”

During the investigation, it was also discovered that a fourth, neighboring house was also affected by the series. The amount of theft and property damage in all four cases is still unclear. The criminal police followed up on the evidence and are now investigating burglary.

From Saturday to Sunday, unknown persons started tampering with model houses in a district of Schkeuditz.

She managed to get inside a single-family home that was being used as an office building by a company, according to the police. It has not yet been determined whether anything went missing.

What is certain, however, is that the houses suffered considerable damage amounting to around 67,000 euros, so the police began investigations into a particularly serious case of theft.

But it wasn’t just private homes that were affected by the break-ins last weekend.

Between Saturday and Monday, perpetrators broke into a primary school in Anger-Crottendorf – also through a window.

They entered the school’s auditorium and stole various types of technology. While the theft cost a mid-four-figure sum, the material damage caused amounted to around 400 euros.

Also on the night of Monday, thieves in Delitzsch broke into several offices of a senior citizens’ residence, searched them and stole cash and a cash box amounting to a low four-digit sum.

They caused damage amounting to 10,000 euros.

In all cases, the police began investigations into burglary or particularly serious cases of theft.

“The beginning of autumn and the associated dusk provide good opportunities for burglars,” explained police spokeswoman Roeber.

For this reason, the authorities advise that when you leave the house, you should close all windows and doors and remove any climbing aids such as garbage cans or similar. Furthermore, shutters should only be closed at night so as not to give the impression that you are absent.
