Angela Hill makes statement after defeat at UFC Vegas 96

Angela Hill speaks out after defeat against Tabatha Ricci

In a recent tweet, Hill makes her first post-fight statement after UFC Vegas 96.

“I had a great training camp, a great fight week and even though we didn’t get the result we wanted, nobody can take the ride away from me,” Hill tweeted on Monday. “I love this crazy life.”

Considered one of the pioneers of women’s MMA, Hill has competed against the best in the division since her UFC debut. Between her two UFC appearances, Hill won and defended the Invicta FC strawweight title, helping to advance women’s MMA.

Hill, 39, has experienced wins and losses during her time in the UFC Octagon. But overall, she has won four of her last six fights, including victories over Loopy Godinez and Luana Pinheiro.

Hill competed in a “Fight of the Year” against Mackenzie Dern last year, losing by unanimous decision, but rebounded with consecutive wins over Pinheiro and Denise Gomes.

For Ricci, the win over Hill continued her positive momentum following a loss to Godinez at UFC 295. Prior to UFC Vegas 96, she defeated Tecia Pennington by split decision in May.

Hill is nearly 40 but has not expressed any desire to retire from fighting in 2024. She will look to get back on track in her next appearance in the Octagon.
