The Investigative Committee reported on new tests in the case of fatal poisoning near Krasnoyarsk | Situation news | Excavations

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, new tests were conducted as part of the criminal investigation into the poisoning of a large family that claimed the lives of four children. This was reported on September 24 in the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that samples of the oral epithelium were taken from the parents and relatives of the minors for molecular genetic studies. In addition, specialists sent tissue samples from the bodies of the deceased children to the Forensic Center of the IC RF for further analysis.

“An additional investigation of the crime scene was carried out in the house where the family lived. The mobile phones of the family members were seized and examined using the UFED hardware and software complex,” the management explained.

In addition, a video recording of a visit to the store where the mother of the dead children bought food was evaluated, which, according to the investigation, could have led to the poisoning of the entire family.

The Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Region told Izvestia that the condition of the parents of the deceased children was satisfactory and that the patients were conscious. They were still under medical supervision.

On September 21, the poisoning of the family in the village of Krasnaya Sopka, Krasnoyarsk Territory, was reported. The victims sought medical help at the hospital with signs of nausea and vomiting. As a result of a sharp deterioration in health, the minor brother and sister died. Later, on September 22, a third child died, and on September 23, a fourth child died. The adults were in serious condition and regained consciousness only on the morning of September 23.

According to the Rosselkhoznadzor department, the store where the poisoned family bought dumplings with chicken sold products that violated veterinary requirements. A criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Manufacture, storage or sale of goods and products that do not meet safety requirements and lead to death through negligence”).

The spouses testified to investigators. In particular, the mother stated that she did not add any foreign substances when preparing the dishes. Employees of the prosecutor’s office seized a loose substance of light color and an antibiotic for cattle stored in the refrigerator in their house. Later it also became known that the family house had been treated with dichlophos on the day of the tragedy. However, it later became known that during the forensic examination no traces of insecticide were found in the bodies of the children’s father and one of the girls.
