Monday Night Football in the NFL: Allen shines at Buffalo, Bengals continue to lose

With a gala performance, quarterback Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to their third win in three games in the NFL. In the second game on Monday evening (September 23, 2024), the Cincinnati Bengals with star quarterback Joe Burrow suffered another defeat.

Buffalo’s quarterback Josh Allen played great in the 47-10 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, including throwing four touchdown passes.

Damar Hamlin provided an emotional highlight of the game in Buffalo. The 26-year-old, who had to be resuscitated on the field after suffering a cardiac arrest at the beginning of last year and fought for his life, made the first interception of his career. In the first quarter, the 26-year-old caught a pass from Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and the fans in Highmark Stadium cheered wildly.

His teammates “played a big part in me being able to pull off this kind of comeback,” Hamlin said. “They were even happier than I was when I had my first interception. That just shows what kind of community we have here in Buffalo.” It’s a special place.

The Bills made the perfect start to the season with their third win after their successes against the Arizona Cardinals (34:28) and the Miami Dolphins (31:10).

Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Minnesota also remained undefeated

In addition to Buffalo, Superbowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings are still undefeated in the new season.

Bengals with star quarterback Burrow still without a win

The Jaguars, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season, as are the Cincinnati Bengals. The team led by star quarterback Joe Burrow lost 33:38 to the Washington Commanders in their second Monday game.

Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels put in a strong performance for the Commanders. 21 of his 23 passes found teammates, he threw two direct touchdown passes and also gained a total of 39 yards through his own runs.
