KB5043178 Windows 11 24H2 [Manueller Download] 26100.1876 as optional update September 2024

The optional update from September 2024 is coming up and that puts us in the target area for the general release of 24H2. This time it is KB 5043178 with a special feature. More on that later. The update increases the version number to Windows 11 26100.1876.

This optional update marks the official release of Windows 11 24H2, even though this version was already distributed to OEMs in July and subsequently provided with updates. The general launch (GA) will then come with the October patch day and with it the MediaCreationTool and the MVS ISOs, which we will then also enter here.

: The name of the website is “My name is Sarah”. The update for this is KB5043080 from September 10, 2024. This update was not only the security update, but also the checkpoint update. We have already reported on how it works here and here.

The KB5043178 also does not require 26100.1 as a base, as was previously the case, but 26100.1742. The advantage is that today’s update is only about 200 MB in size. In contrast to the security update with 500 MB. This saves traffic and time. Since the updates for “normal” users are installed via Windows Update anyway, this is not a problem. Otherwise, it can lead to problems with the manual installation. But back to today’s update.
