Man hospitalized after shooting near Glen Oak School in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – Peoria police said a man was hospitalized Monday afternoon with multiple gunshot wounds.

Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria said they received two gunshot detection reports in the area of ​​North Wisconsin and East Frye avenues near the Glen Oak Community Learning Center in Peoria around 1:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a man, approximately 18 years old, with multiple gunshot wounds. Echevarria said the man was able to get up and walk before being taken to a local hospital.

At the same time, Echevarria said police had notified Peoria Public Schools and Glen Oak Community Learning Center and arranged for them to be locked down.

The crime scene is currently completely clear. The police are looking for information about the suspect.
