Oasis to play concerts in Cardiff according to “leaked” photo

Oasis to play concerts in Cardiff according to “leaked” photo

Oasis teaser announcement for Tuesday, August 27th, 8am

The rumor mill has been bubbling since Liam and Noel Gallagher fueled speculation that an Oasis reunion could finally be imminent – the brothers hinted that there could be a band announcement on Tuesday.

A short clip of a sign in the style of the Oasis logo was shared on both Instagram accounts and the official Oasis page on Sunday evening.

The black sign had the date “08/27/24” in the middle before it flickered and the display changed to “8 o’clock.”

Fans of the Manchester rock band have been begging the brothers to get back together since they split up in 2009, sparked by a brawl backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

During his headlining performance at Reading Festival on Sunday night, Liam dedicated the Oasis song “Half The World Away” to his estranged brother Noel and later their hit “Cigarettes & Alcohol” to the people he says hate the rock band.

At the end of the performance, the same clip announcing Tuesday’s date was shown on the main screens on the stage.

On Monday evening, the rumor mill was in full swing when images appeared on social media platforms such as Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) purporting to show an itinerary of shows planned for next summer in the UK.

In one image, Cardiff appears to be the location where the band will launch their series of UK stadium concerts, scheduled for Friday 5 July and Saturday 6 July 2025.

The picture also lists performances at Heaton Park in Manchester, Wembley Stadium in London, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Croke Park in Dublin before the band heads out on a series of international dates.

Of course, we must emphasize that this is just a rumor and we cannot confirm the authenticity of the picture, but we would be happy if it were true.

I guess we’ll find out one way or another at 8am tomorrow morning!

The Principality Stadium has long been a destination for the biggest names in music. Billy Joel recently played his only European show in the Welsh capital, and this summer has seen major concerts from Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Pink and the Foo Fighters.

The venue was also the destination of Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet world tour, which began here in 2008.

Rumors of an Oasis reunion have been circulating for years, but have recently intensified given the apparent easing of the dispute between the two.

A report in the Sunday Times quoted industry insiders as saying the brothers would perform a series of concerts next year, including appearances at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park.

There is also speculation that a headlining slot at Glastonbury could be in the works.

Liam fueled the rumors by giving some not entirely serious answers to fans who flooded him with messages on social media asking for confirmation.

After the Times posted the article on X (formerly Twitter), one fan commented that Heaton Park was a “terrible concert venue,” to which Liam replied: “See you at the front.”

When asked by another when the reunion dates would be announced, he replied, “Next Friday.”

The rocker also tweeted on Sunday morning that he “never liked the word FORMER.”

This comes as the band’s classic debut album, Definitely Maybe, celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special edition this week.

Liam toured the UK this summer as part of his ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release in 1994.

Noel was conspicuously absent from the concerts, but during a show in Cardiff, Liam dedicated Half The World Away specifically to his “little brother” and said he “still plays the hard-to-reach guy.”

During his headlining performance at Leeds Festival on Friday night, Liam also played a number of Oasis hits.

Fans were also surprised to hear Noel pay a series of compliments to Liam in an interview published last week with music journalist John Robb of Sifters Records in Manchester in honor of the album’s 30th anniversary.

Speaking about Liam’s performance on some of their hits, Noel said: “It’s the delivery or the tone of his voice and his attitude.

“I don’t have the same attitude as him.”

He also jokingly compared Liam’s voice to “10 shots of tequila on a Friday night” and his to “half a Guinness on a Tuesday”.

The Britpop group, founded in 1991, became famous with hits such as “Wonderwall”, “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and “Stop Crying Your Heart Out”.

Before their split in 2009, they developed into one of the biggest bands in British music history.

The brothers had successful careers separately, with Noel fronting the group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

ALL WILL BE REVEALED TUESDAY MORNING AT 8AM!
