Lady Gaga’s Instagram could announce a ‘Joker’-related project

It’s been a while since Lady Gaga has been up to her tricks, but her Instagram has fans feeling like it’s 2010 again. The singer has been posting mysterious Instagram teasers ahead of her upcoming film. Joker: Foil for Twoand fans believe she has more in store than just the movie.

First, Gaga posted a picture with the caption “I’m ready for my interview” in creepy-looking handwriting, which joker in light of Joaquin Phoenix’s character’s talk show scene in the first film. The next day, she posted a teaser with the text “Don’t tell me what to wear” against a black background.

However, their third post, “No duct tape, no mission,” featured haunting background music with sinister guitar chords that reminded fans of Radiohead’s “Creep.” This pattern continued with their fourth post on September 23, which read, “Moon dust gets everywhere,” and featured another spooky guitar in the background.

Things only got more mysterious when Entertainment Tonight asked Gaga about the Instagram teasers. She kept her poker face (pun intended) and simply said, “It’s a secret,” as seen in a viral video. But of course, fans have a theory about what that secret could be.

What is Lady Gaga trying to tease with this?

On September 3, Gaga announced that she had released the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album (aka LG7) in October. While their Instagram teasers refer to their new song, they seem more connected to the joker Sequel, which premieres on October 4th.

Fans have associated the colors of Gaga’s posts with her character Harley Quinn and the colors of the Joker in the original Batman Comics. She also distributed T-shirts with these sentences (plus more joker-like sayings) at a preview of Joker: Foil for Two in Los Angeles.

Therefore, some fans suspect that Gaga is teasing a Joker-inspired music project separate from the film’s soundtrack, which includes cover versions sung by Gaga and Phoenix in the film. This would be similar to Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gifta concept album inspired by her role in Disney’s live-action remake of the 1994 classic.

If true, this could be the secret project that Gaga has been hinting at for over a year. In June 2023, she revealed on Instagram that she had “written and produced music for a special project,” but did not elaborate. Gaga may have started teasing this early on. Some fans now think this may have been an Easter egg for this project, with one fan even calling it a “Harlequin Radio” EP.

If this theory is correct, Little Monsters could release two new Gaga albums within a few months.
