The 2024 Crime Cologne Prize goes to Stephan Schmidt

The opening gala of Krimi Köln (20th-29th September) took place on 22nd September in the sold-out “Ludwig im Museum”. The evening was hosted by Mona Ameziane. One of the highlights was the Crime Cologne Award 2024 awarded, was awarded Stephan Schmidt With “The Games” (DuMont).

Die jury justified her choice as follows: “Schmidt takes us into the big world of politics and diplomacy.

People are interwoven and entangled in it, whether Chinese in the crosshairs of the system, career-hungry or idealistic journalists or diplomats, with all their dreams, desires and tough interests. But Stefan Schmidt makes them all approachable in their weaknesses. There are always people behind big politics. An exciting, straightforward and very informative book.”
