Water supply disruptions will occur in parts of Cape Town on Wednesday and Thursday due to maintenance work

CAPE TOWN – Cape Town residents are being warned of planned water outages that will impact the city from Wednesday this week.

The City of Cape Town said it would carry out scheduled maintenance on the water supply in the metro, which would result in complete outages in some areas.

Areas affected include Century City, parts of Milnerton and Gunners Circle in Epping Industria on Wednesday and Vredekloof, Morgenster, Marlborough Park and Brackenfell on Thursday.

The Koeberg power station and areas in Melkbosstrand will also be affected on Thursday.

“This is critical to ensure that our water systems are performing optimally, but also to ensure that where there are leaks or a risk of leaks, we reduce and eliminate those risks.”

The city said it was not possible to predict exactly which areas or streets would be affected.
