Man City 2:2 Arsenal: Guardiola may be facing a big problem

We may not know how much damage was caused by Manchester City’s draw with Arsenal until a few days from now.

As coach Pep Guardiola pointed out, Rodri is not the type of player to leave a game early, so the fact that he did so suggests that the injury he sustained in the early stages of the game is serious.

It is well known how important he is to the City team, so if the Spanish midfielder were to be out for an extended period, it would certainly affect the team’s chances of extending their run of four consecutive Premier League titles.

Mateo Kovacic is an excellent player and the return of Ilkay Gundogan means there are options for City’s central midfield.

But Pep knows – as everyone knows – that no one can replace Rodri. He is possibly the most important player in City’s squad.

In a season full of problems off the field, Guardiola could soon be facing a pretty serious problem.
