Top Ten: Apple Watch Series 10 in the test

Top Ten: Apple Watch Series 10 in the test

Apple has been introducing an improved Apple Watch every year for a decade. This fall, the company has also completely renovated the smartwatch. Although the anniversary model did not meet all expectations, the Series 10 still has a lot to offer. With the added functions, it even came surprisingly close to the more expensive Apple Watch Ultra. Our test shows what sets the new generation apart.

  • The Apple Watch Series 10 has a larger display and a thinner case.
  • The newly introduced sleep apnea detection is being updated on many older models.
  • The Series 10 offers fast charging, but the manufacturer was unable to increase battery life.

The Apple Watch gets bigger every three years. The Series 10 is one millimeter longer and one millimeter wider than the Series 9. The largest model now measures 46 x 39 mm, the smaller 42 x 36 mm – almost as much as the large models among the very first Apple Watches. This doesn’t make the Series 10 look bulky at all, because Apple has reduced the thickness of both versions by one millimeter. We had a model with a height of 46 millimeters and an aluminum case. The fact that the aluminum models weigh around two grams less than before is not noticeable.

The Series 10 (far right) is thinner than the Series 9 (middle) or the Ultra 2.

The display glass is rounded at the edges and is similar to its predecessors. Critics find this boring. Fans of the design see this as a careful product maintenance. Pragmatists are simply happy that even straps that are almost ten years old still fit the latest model.
