A fresher look thanks to sperm? Yes, that’s a new beauty trend from Hollywood. And no, if you’re thinking about sex, you’re completely wrong. Simone Ballack dares to try it out for herself and gets herself injected with salmon sperm for beauty.

A stay of several months in Italy led her to her trusted beauty doctor, Simone Ballack reveals in an RTL interview. They “got a lot of sun, worked a lot, slept little” and that “of course eventually shows its effect on the skin.”

“And now I just notice that my skin is dry and that I have dark circles under my eyes – and I would like to get rid of them a bit,” explains the 48-year-old in Kamilla Derichs’ practice. The latest beauty trend from Hollywood, which is supposed to make you glow more, comes at just the right time. The latest craze among stars is sperm on the face. It sounds shady, but it has nothing to do with sexual practices.

Instead, customers like Ballack who don’t want dark circles under their eyes and want plump, youthful-looking skin are injected with salmon sperm. This is supposed to give a particularly beautiful glow. At least that’s what celebrity women like Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian believe, as they are said to currently swear by the so-called polynucleotides.

However, this is not really fish sperm, but rather “small protein building blocks” of maritime origin, as Derichs explains to RTL. The injected gel that is produced from this “works at the cellular level and stimulates the body’s own collagen synthesis and supplies the skin with moisture,” explains the beauty expert.

Now we have to wait

Unfortunately, it is not possible to verify immediately after the injection whether the dark circles under the eyes are actually not quite as dark. Ballack’s eyes are (still) too swollen for that. “You can still see where it was injected,” says the 48-year-old, taking a critical look in the mirror. Derichs promises that the fishy rejuvenation treatment will fully reveal its glow after just under a week.

Apart from the cost of 400 euros, there are supposedly no side effects, unless you are allergic to fish.
