Invest 97L has millions on alert from Florida to Louisiana

Millions of people live on the Gulf Coast Florida To Louisiana are requested to ensure Preparations are in place as Invest 97L is becoming increasingly well organized and is likely to become a tropical storm or hurricane Helene in the coming days when the system reaches the Gulf of Mexico.

“The system is forecast to move generally northward across the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and stakeholders along the northern and northeastern Gulf Coast should also closely monitor the development of this system,” the NHC said.

Another area with severe weather in the Eastern Atlantic

While concerns grow about a possible tropical hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean later this week, another area with possible tropical development is under observation by the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The observed area is a tropical disturbance near the west coast Africaaccording to the NHC.

The NHC says environmental conditions could support a gradual development of the system, and a tropical depression could form in the central or eastern tropical Atlantic mid to late this week.

The NHC currently sees great potential for development in the system.
