1:5! Borussia Dortmund is puzzling again

After the defeat at VfB Stuttgart, the gap to the top of the table is already five points. This means that BVB will never get back on track

Not a good weekend for the Ruhrpott clubs. First, Schalke 04 squandered a 3-0 lead and was given five goals by Darmstadt 98 in their own arena to make it 3-5. Then VfL Bochum did not score as planned and hoped for three points in the basement duel against promoted team Holstein Kiel (2-2).

The low point on Sunday: Borussia Dortmund, who had been upgraded at great expense and started the season as Bayern’s number one hunter, lost 5-1 to VfB Stuttgart Baden. All helpless attempts at explanation were useless. After just four Bundesliga matchdays, they are already five points behind Bayern Munich.

What were we thinking when we thought Dortmund would change their mentality? You can lose to the runners-up. But 1:5? Isn’t that exactly why BVB signed two of Stuttgart’s best players, Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy, ​​so that something like that would never happen again?

Borussia Dortmund is a mystery again. It is not known whether the 1:5 defeat was perhaps just an accident because the Champions League game in Bruges during the week took too much energy. (But then you would have to ignore the fact that VfB Stuttgart also had a European Cup week behind them.)
