Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could launch alongside Galaxy Tab S10 series: Details: Technology News | Tech News

Samsung is reportedly set to launch the Galaxy S24 FE, but there is no official confirmation yet. The South Korean smartphone maker has started the pre-booking process for its upcoming flagship Galaxy Tab S10 series. The pre-booking period will end on September 24. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is expected to be unveiled on September 26, and the Galaxy S24 FE could debut simultaneously with it.

The Galaxy S24 FE is a Fan Edition smartphone that offers similar features to the main Galaxy S series but comes at a cheaper price due to minor downgrades. Previous leaks have hinted at the codename (R12), colors, specifications, and launch window. According to The Verge, the smartphone’s model number (SM-S721U) was spotted in the database of EE (a UK mobile operator) as well as on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website under the model number (SM-S721B/DS). Furthermore, the smartphone appeared on the website of Bluetooth SIG and the FCC in August, listed under the model numbers SM-S721U and SM-S721B/DS, respectively. A support page for the model number was briefly listed on the Samsung France website.


Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: What to expect

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon chipset or an Exynos 2400 chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Samsung has previously followed the dual-chip strategy by offering the Snapdragon chipset in some regions and the Exynos chipset in others. A similar strategy could be followed for the S24 FE as well.

The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,900 nits brightness. The display will be surrounded by a 1.99mm wide bezel.

According to the leaks so far, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to feature a similar design to the S23 FE, with three cameras on the back and a selfie camera on the front. The main camera is expected to be 50MP, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP lens with 3x optical zoom. A 10MP selfie camera is also expected. According to leaked details from Android Headlines, the S24 FE is expected to be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and back. The body of the phone could be encased in an aluminum frame with a polished finish.

The device is expected to measure 162 x 77.3 x 8 mm and will likely be available in light green, yellow, light blue, grey and black. For comparison, last year’s FE smartphone was offered in two colours that were exclusively available in the Samsung store.
