The biggest rating upgrades and downgrades for EA FC 25 leaked so far

Although the official EA FC 25 player ratings have not yet been announced, many high-profile cards have been leaked, revealing some important upgrades and downgrades.

Every year, the developers update each player’s Ultimate Team card to reflect their performance in the previous season. These cards are always important talking points for the next game, as their stats determine how strong they are in the meta and what promo cards they might receive.

Here are some of the biggest rating upgrades and downgrades in FC 25 that have leaked so far.

Biggest rating upgrades in FC 25

Cole Palmer (+19)

Cole Palmer has been a hot prospect in the Premier League for many years, but he finally lived up to the hype in the 2023/24 season. After moving from Manchester City to Chelsea, the England international scored 22 goals, securing the Young Player of the Year award and a place in the Team of the Season.

According to leaker Donk Trading, his outstanding performances in EA FC 25 will be rewarded with a stunning +19 upgrade – one of the biggest we’ve seen in Ultimate Team. Having started FC 24 with a 66-rated silver card, Palmer will be one of the best midfielders in the new game.

Kobbie Mainoo (+15)

Another rising English star who has seen a huge improvement is Kobbie Mainoo. The 19-year-old had a breakthrough season last season, establishing himself as one of Manchester United’s most important players and securing a place in the Euro 2024 squad.

While he still has a long way to go before he can compete with the best midfielders in the world, a rating increase from 62 to 77 means he could see a lot more action in Ultimate Team this season. Plus, at under 20 years old, he will undoubtedly be a popular addition to Career Mode due to his massive potential.

Viktor Gyokeres (+9)

While many of the biggest changes so far have been limited to Europe’s top five leagues, it was impossible to ignore the performances of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. The tall Swede has proven himself to be one of the most promising strikers on the market, having finished as the Primera Liga’s top scorer last season with 29 goals.

This will be reflected in his EA FC 25 player rating, which is set to rise from just 75 to 84, adding +11, +6 and +9 to his shot, physicality and pace respectively. With these stat boosts, Gyokeres has the makings of the perfect starting striker for your Ultimate Team if you can accommodate him.

Nico Williams (+6)

Nico Williams is considered one of the most exciting young players in Europe and is being poached from Atlético Bilbao by clubs such as Barcelona and Arsenal. After winning the European Championship with Spain, the winger has now been rewarded with a huge rating boost in EA FC 25.

According to a leak from Fut Scoreboard, he will receive a +6 upgrade, taking him from 79 to 85. This includes nice improvements to dribbling, pace and passing, making him one of the best wingers in the early game.

Biggest downgrades in EA FC 25

Casemiro (-5)

At the other end of the spectrum, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly suffered a major blow after facing a lot of criticism over the past year. The Brazilian, once considered one of the best defenders in the world, has had a series of poor performances that many believe cost his team victory in crucial matches.

The result is a massive downgrade (-5), dropping him completely out of the top 100. While that alone wouldn’t necessarily be fatal, the loss of 25 pace likely makes him much less useful when teams fill the center of the pitch with speedy midfielders.

Marcus Rashford (-4)

Marcus Rashford also faces a serious downgrade in his FC 25 rating in Manchester. According to a leaked card from Donk Trading, the United star has dropped 4 points after a disappointing season in which he scored just seven goals in the Premier League.

While he still has 89 Speed, the hefty -3 and -10 drops to his Shooting and Physical stats mean he loses his place as a potential meta winger and instead has to settle for the role of a speedy starting pick that you’ll want to upgrade at some point.

Neymar Jr. (-2)

According to Donk Trading, Neymar Jr. is still one of the best players in EA FC 25 with an impressive rating of 87. A downgrade of just -2 isn’t too drastic, however, the change in shooting to -4 will undoubtedly see the Brazilian icon slip down the rankings after an injury-plagued debut season in Saudi Arabia.

However, his speed and dribbling are still more than strong enough to make him viable in the right lineup, and with a few in-forms or promo cards under his belt, he could still develop into one of Ultimate Team’s most dangerous players.

Keep in mind that these reviews are all based on leaks and nothing has been officially confirmed yet. There are always more upgrades and downgrades, so we’ll be sure to update this page with the biggest winners and losers.

In the meantime, prepare for EA FC 25 by checking out all the new heroes and icons and learning how to get free rewards with the FC 24 pre-season promo.
