Jeremy Clarkson criticises Keir Starmer over free gifts in brutal jibe | Celebrity News | Showbiz and TV

Jeremy Clarkson is the latest participant in the debate about Keir Starmer’s acceptance of gifts.

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter shared his thoughts after reports emerged last week that Prime Minister Keir Starmer had allegedly received £100,000 worth of freebies.

It was revealed that Starmer would no longer watch Arsenal games from the stands and, following further uproar, he told ITV News: “I have had season tickets for Arsenal for a long time, which I have gone to year after year with my son and my friends. Now that I am Prime Minister, the security advice says I cannot go into the stands.”

“Or if I did, they would have to put in so much security that it would cost the taxpayer a fortune. For this reason, I was offered tickets to other places in the stadium where it is safer.

“We don’t need to spend taxpayers’ money on additional security. That’s why I made this decision.”

But despite his best defence, he has still come under fire from various people, including Clarkson, who wrote in his column in The Sun that in the “socialist world” there would be no directors’ box at Arsenal.

Clarkson added: “Because all animals are equal. But some, as we know, are more equal than others. And that’s why our glorious leader says he needs to be in a warm room, with nice sandwiches.”

Clarkson added: “He argues that it would be too difficult for his security team to operate in the stands.”

He then compared him to Rishi Sunak, adding: “Let’s not forget that when Snowball Sunak was in charge, he was watching his beloved Southampton from the stands. And his security people seemed to be coping.”
