Murder investigation underway at Stillman Court Apartments in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WBRC) – Tuscaloosa Police and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit are investigating a homicide case of a man found dead Saturday night.

The incident occurred at the Stillman Court Apartments in the 2900 block of 17th Street in Tuscaloosa.

Neighbors said they called police after finding a man’s body in an apartment.

Officers arrived shortly after 9:30 p.m. and found the man dead. They believe this was a crime. Police say the victim lived in the apartment.

Authorities classify this incident as a complex case because they believe the victim was killed days ago.

“We have a crime scene that’s been here for a couple of days,” says Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. “And we haven’t found any active witnesses, so the crime scene wasn’t in progress when police were called.”

There is currently no one in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department at 205-349-2121 or the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit at 205-349-2121.
