Horner: “Play through all possibilities”

The Red Bull team boss yesterday Heaven Let’s talk again about the situation of Daniel Ricciardo, who is apparently driving his last race this weekend and will be replaced by Liam Lawson from Austin onwards.

“I’m not going to discuss details of driver contracts here. That’s private between the company and the employees. Liam did very impressively in the VCARB a year ago,” explains Horner.

“But there’s something else at stake. Daniel was our bench in case Sergio couldn’t get it together. Daniel had an okay season, but not an outstanding one. The question now is: how good is Liam?”

“Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made to get these answers. We will meet again during the break [vor Austin] sit down and think through all these possibilities,” Horner said.

He doesn’t provide a real answer either. We already know that from the Red Bull camp this weekend.

Leclerc: “Everything thrown in the trash”

Did the war break out at Ferrari yesterday? On Friday, Charles Leclerc was still at the front, but yesterday everything went downhill for the Scuderia with P9 and P10 in qualifying. The crux of the matter: the tire temperatures.

As Leclerc revealed after qualifying, the tires were too cold when they came out of the heating blankets for the showdown in Singapore. “Q1, Q2 went well. I was hopeful again after the third practice session.”

“But then I came out of the pits in Q3 and the front tyres were much colder,” says Leclerc, revealing: “We don’t know the exact reason for this yet, but the fact is that we started the lap with two cold front tyres, I braked too late in Turn 1 and that was it.

Will there be a crash during takeoff in Singapore?

The two World Championship rivals Lando Norris and Max Verstappen will start together from the front row. And McLaren team boss Andrea Stella explains that this starting position is “very interesting”.

“I hope that the race goes off without any problems. I think that none of the drivers want to see a Prost and Senna type of race in Suzuka,” said the team boss, referring to the World Championship decision in 1990.

“We want the best car to win. We want to have the kind of excitement that we had in the past races,” said Stella, who emphasized: “Our car was very strong in the long runs.”

“I think so too, if we have the lead.” [beim Start halten] “We should be able to control the race,” he explains, admitting: “Having Lando and Max next to each other definitely makes our evening even more exciting.”

“But I think if Lando takes the lead, the performance we have in the car and from Lando himself is very promising for the race.”
