Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – PS5 release date to be announced later this year

One of the many highly anticipated games is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the third title in the stealth-action series. We know it’s coming to PS5, but at the moment we don’t know when. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait to much longer for an answer.

At the very end of the PS Blog hands-on post on Konami’s remake, writer Corey Brotherson states that we’ll get a release date sometime in 2024. At the end of the post, Brotherson reiterates that you’ll be able to play Delta on the PS5, “with a release date to be announced later this year.” So in the next few months, we’ll finally find out when this game is set to release.

Earlier this year, Sony caused a stir when it included Delta in a list of PS5 games coming in 2024, despite there being no official word from Konami on a release date. Many have assumed this means the game will actually come out before the end of the year, but with the final months of 2024 coming into view and no word from the publisher yet, this is looking less likely. Additionally, the Silent Hill 2 remake is set to release on October 8, and we doubt Konami would want to release two games in quick succession.

Whatever the case, it’s likely that we’ll learn Delta’s release date in the near future. Until then, you can read our recent hands-on impressions from Gamescom, where we call it a “fiercely loyal remake”:
