PS Plus October 2024 FREE PS4 and PS5 games – Last of Us 2, Dark Pictures and Hades | Gaming | Entertainment

The next wave of PS Plus games will soon be revealed by Sony. After a disappointing selection of PlayStation Plus Extra games in September, subscribers will be hoping the Essentials lineup kicks up a gear in October. If Sony sticks to the traditional monthly release schedule, the next batch of free PS4 and PS5 games will be revealed on September 25 at 4:30pm BST (UK time). However, with rumors that Sony is planning a State of Play presentation on September 24, there’s a good chance the company will announce the new PS Plus Essentials during the online event. If Sony announces the PS Plus games during the rumored State of Play, fans can expect at least one blockbuster release to be included in the lineup.

With that in mind, and since Sony usually releases at least one horror game in October, I expect The Last of Us 2 to join the Essentials lineup on October 1st.

The Last of Us Part 2 also appears in the monthly predictions thread on Reddit, which would certainly make up for some of the lackluster releases so far this year.

Other games featured in the monthly predictions thread include the roguelike action game Hades and, of course, the horror game Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me.

Resident Evil Village is also mentioned a few times, along with the zombie games Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2.

Another interesting and quite recent choice is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, an asymmetrical third-person horror game.

Although the next game in the series won’t be released until late October, there are surprisingly many suggestions for Call of Duty games like Vanguard and Modern Warfare.

Although Call of Duty regularly appears on PS Plus, I would be surprised if an older COD joined the service just weeks before the release of Black Ops 6.

Similar to last month, there are plenty of tips for the action role-playing game Atomic Heart.

The game was de-released on Xbox Game Pass in late August, leading to speculation that it will be part of PlayStation Plus at some point in the near future.

Other games on the prediction list include Sonic Frontiers, although I think this game falls into the same category as Call of Duty given the upcoming release of Sonic x Shadow Generations.

The usual suspects like Viewfinder, WWE 2K24, Forspoken and Suicide Squad are also on the list, with one user saying the latter is a “no-brainer” for PS Plus membership.

This would certainly help publisher Warner Bros. to generate interest in the game, which has so far been a huge flop.

Daily Express will keep this article updated with all leaks and updates, as well as the official lineup when it is announced next week.
