Liverpool deliver the ‘perfect response’ to a win that was ‘everything last week wasn’t’ – Liverpool FC

Liverpool recorded a clear 3-0 home victory against Bournemouth in the Premier League and fans were delighted with the strong response after last weekend.

The Reds recovered from the disappointment of their defeat to Nottingham Forest and put in a dominant performance overall.

An in-form Luis Diaz scored twice in as many minutes to put Arne Slot’s side ahead before Darwin Nunez curled the ball home in superb fashion.

The second half was less memorable, but Bournemouth barely managed a comeback and Liverpool took the lead, at least temporarily.

After the victory, the mood was clear: fans praised the positive reaction on social media after the surprise defeat last time in the league.

The result against Nottingham Forest could have dented Liverpool’s confidence, but their response in the last two games has been superb. That they are top of the Premier League reflects the fact that they have made a very strong start under Arne Slot.

Perfect response to last week’s result and performance. Bournemouth played pretty well today but Liverpool were lethal in the first half and took the game away from them. Gravenberch and Trent are impressive but Ibou is the best of the bunch. He has started the season strongly.

Nunez was really good today, Diaz obviously was too, and Gravenberch seems to be a man who knows he deserves this position.

Trent though. People talk about him in midfield but he doesn’t need to be. The kid can run a game from right back.
