Raheem Sterling’s priority is to resolve his contract situation at Chelsea before negotiating a move with interested parties before the transfer window closes.

Sterling is not part of the plans for Stamford Bridge but has three years left on terms worth more than £300,000 a week.

The 29-year-old striker is preparing for further talks with Chelsea in the coming days before potentially deciding on a new club.

There have been inquiries from several quarters about the terms of a possible transfer, but this has not yet led to any concrete negotiations. The focus was initially on Sterling’s contract issues.

Although there are reports that Aston Villa are interested in Sterling, there is no concrete interest in the former Manchester City attacker and the club are not pursuing the matter any further.

Sterling did not play in Chelsea’s opening games of the Premier League season or in the Conference League play-off first leg against Servette.
