Georgia Tech beats Florida State and causes major upset in Week 1

Three ACC teams competed in Week 0 as part of a very loose schedule, but it ended up being two thrilling games. Georgia Tech beat Florida State with a game-winning field goal as time expired to shock the 10th-ranked Seminoles. SMU, a four-touchdown favorite at Nevada, needed 16 fourth-quarter points in the final 8:01 minutes to escape with a 29-24 victory.

Two games with two, to say the least, quite eye-opening results.

Now we’re entering Week 1 and there’s a full schedule for the ACC, with all teams in action sometime between Thursday and Monday nights. There’s already some shakeup in the ACC Football Power Rankings after this weekend. Here are the latest rankings for the first full weekend of college football.

Virginia has named Anthony Colandrea its starting quarterback and it will be interesting to see how the sophomore plays for the Cavaliers in the early going.
