Björn Borg and John McEnroe played their last professional match against each other 43 years ago. But the rivalry between the legendary tennis players is only coming to an end now, at the Laver Cup in Berlin. Since 2017, 68-year-old Borg has been captain of Team Europe, while McEnroe, three years younger, has coached the best players from the rest of the world. Both are retiring after this year’s competition, but McEnroe assured us before her farewell interview with ZEIT ONLINE that we would continue to hear from them: “We’ll probably have to continue as podcasters.”
