“Inside Out 2” makes history and crosses the one billion dollar mark at the international box office

WASHINGTON: Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 made history by crossing the $1 billion mark at the international box office, making it the first animated film to reach the milestone. It joins an elite group of 12 films to cross the billion-dollar mark in foreign ticket sales alone. Most notably, The Lion King (2019) also reached this mark. Disney considers it a live-action film due to its realistic CGI.

Inside Out 2 is currently the highest grossing film of the year worldwide, with an impressive $1.649 billion worldwide, including $1.002 billion overseas. Its phenomenal success shows how popular it is, especially in Brazil, Mexico, the UK, Korea and France.

In contrast, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” another Disney blockbuster this summer, grossed $634.1 million internationally, underscoring the impressive reach of “Inside Out 2” even compared to other box office hits.

Other notable box office hits include “Alien: Romulus,” which grossed $57.8 million worldwide this weekend, bringing its total to $225.4 million. Recent releases “Blink Twice” and “The Crow,” on the other hand, struggled, posting disappointing domestic and international debuts.
