Congress demands SIT probe into Munirathna’s alleged biological warfare

BENGALURU: Arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former minister Munirathna is accused of spreading HIV/AIDS to HIV/AIDS infected people through injections. His rival, alleged Congress MP and former Lok Sabha MP DK Suresh, has been accused of spreading HIV/AIDS to his followers in this way. He urged the state government to set up a special investigation team to investigate the case in detail.

Munirathna was arrested by the police on charges of rape, intimidation of a contractor by demanding a bribe and caste abuse.

“One has heard of biological warfare in some countries, but never of the transmission of HIV/AIDS,” he said, suspecting that there is a large network and a great conspiracy involved. “It seems to be a zoological war,” the former MP noted.

“I do not know his (Munirathna’s) mindset,” he said, demanding that “a comprehensive investigation is required to shed light on who was being used by him (Munirathna) to spread the dreaded disease?” The SIT’s investigation, he said, “should shed light on who is behind Munirathna.”
