India’s first 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train began commercial operations from Varanasi on September 18. This train, which connects New Delhi to Varanasi, was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this week.

With the operation of this Vande Bharat Express train, passengers travelling between New Delhi and Varanasi can now opt for a faster journey between the two cities. Train travels 771 km in 8 hours

This new Vande Bharat Express train replaces earlier models, runs in the Northern Railway zone and covers the 771 km route in about 8 hours.

So far, only two Vande Bharat Express trains, each with 20 coaches, have been operated on the New Delhi-Varanasi route. These trains are operated and maintained by the Northern Railway Zone.

Passengers should note that the 20-coach Vande Bharat Express New Delhi-Varanasi trains number 22436/22435 and 22415/22416 cover a distance of 771 km in approximately 8 hours, making them the fastest trains on this route.

Vande Bharat Express: Check route and schedule

Train no. 22415 (Varanasi to New Delhi) departs from Varanasi at 06:00 hrs and arrives at 14:05 hrs.

Then train number 22435 (Varanasi to New Delhi) departs from Varanasi at 15:00 hrs and arrives at 23:00 hrs.

Vande Bharat Express: Route and closures

The new Vande Bharat Express train will stop at two railway stations: Prayagraj Junction and Kanpur Central and will significantly improve travel options for passengers between Varanasi and the national capital.

Vande Bharat Express: Fare

The new Vande Bharat Express trains offer a total of 1,440 seats with two seating options: AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. The fare for AC Chair Car from Varanasi to New Delhi is Rs 1,795 while the fare for Executive Chair Car is Rs 3,320.
