Samsung phones: Update to One UI 6.1.1 is here – these are the new features

• Samsung is currently distributing the extensive operating system update One UI 6.1.1 for its smartphones.
• This update brings features to older models that were previously only available on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
• Several of the manufacturer’s devices have already received the update – and more are constantly being added.

Samsung’s current smartphones, the folding Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, were until now the only ones to have the latest Samsung operating system, One UI 6.1.1. Now the South Korean manufacturer has announced that other models will soon receive an update to the latest operating system. This update comes with numerous useful Galaxy AI functions.

Now Samsung has announced that it plans to bring One UI 6.1.1 to older models with an update. The update contains numerous features that use the artificial intelligence called “Galaxy AI”.

The new features include an “interpreter” function that allows you to perform a live translation in one direction, for example during presentations in foreign languages. The “composer” feature helps you create various texts such as emails or social media posts with just a few words, even in your personal writing style.

The feature that Samsung calls the “Note Assistant,” which will be available on selected smartphones with the update, can summarize and translate longer notes for you. Another assistant for transcriptions allows you to create notes from voice recordings. In addition, after the update it will be possible to open and translate PDFs in Samsung Notes.

The new Galaxy AI features should also be able to support you on an artistic level. The new “Portrait Studio” feature should make it possible to generate portraits in different styles.

These smartphones now receive the new Galaxy AI feature

Samsung started distributing the updates on September 9th and initially provided the models of the Galaxy S24 series with One UI 6.1.1. Most recently, the devices of the S22 series received an update.

By the way: The update to One UI caused a problem with the camera on one model. The manufacturer has therefore stopped the update for this smartphone for the time being.
