Tia Booth from Bachelor in Paradise explains how her husband ruined the pregnancy surprise

Tia Booth’s pregnancy announcement to her husband Taylor Mock did not go quite according to plan.

On Sunday, August 25, the former Bachelor in Paradise The 33-year-old star held a question-and-answer session on her Instagram stories with fans who were curious about some of the details of her recently announced pregnancy.

When asked by a fan how she told Mock the “exciting news” of her pregnancy, Booth revealed that things didn’t quite go according to plan.

“I tried to keep it a secret so I could surprise him and he found the sample package in the trash when he went to cut his toenails hahaha,” she wrote.

In a hilarious video of the moment, the reality TV star filmed her open bathroom trash can, which had a pregnancy test wrapper at the very top – and then pulled out the test herself to show Mock that a thin “positive” line had appeared.

“I think this is a false positive,” Mock said in the clip as Booth laughed.

The couple, who married in November 2023, are already parents to 20-month-old son Tatum. In an Instagram video on Thursday, August 22, they announced that they are expecting their second child together.

“BIG BROTHER TATUM 🥹🥹,” the couple captioned the video for Wilfred’s song “Everything We Need.”

Booth also answered a few other questions from fans on Sunday, including the gender of their baby, who is on the way. She responded that the couple wanted to wait until the baby was born.

“We’re not going to find out this time,” she explained in a video. “This was my idea. I just wanted to do it. This is our second child and I want to do it at least once.”

“Taylor doesn’t like this,” she added. “He wants to know, so I’m trying not to let his peer pressure push me to find out. We did the genetic test – I just haven’t opened the email. I’m just waiting for my gynecologist to give me the results for everything.”

Booth added that she was only worried that the organ ultrasound might give away the secret of the baby’s gender.

“I’m worried that I’ll see the pieces and then I’ll know,” she explained. “But we’re excited and hopeful that we can wait and find out.”

Elsewhere in her Instagram Q&A, Booth said she and Mock are still considering whether to give their new baby a name that begins with the letter “T.”

“Taylor says there’s no way we can leave this child out,” she said in a video about the naming process. “He thinks this child is going to feel left out. I think when they’re older, they’ll appreciate being a little different.”
