Taylor Swift performs surprisingly well in polls – against Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift could compete with both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris if she threw her hat with the number 22 into the race for the White House, according to a New York Times Presidential poll.

The pop phenomenon achieved a 44 percent approval rating among likely voters across the country, just behind Trump’s 47 percent and Harris’ 48 percent.

However, 34 percent had an unfavorable opinion of Swift, which is significantly better than the results for Trump with an unfavorability rating of 51 percent and Harris with 49 percent.

Given Swift’s outpouring of support for Harris following the presidential debate, it’s not surprising that much of her support came from Democrats: 70 percent favored her, compared to 23 percent of Republicans.

Only 11 percent of Democrats opposed her, while 60 percent of Republicans were clearly not fans.

Swift also fared well among independent critics: 41 percent of respondents were positive and 32 percent were negative.

The New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirerand the Siena College poll was conducted between September 11 and 16, before the debate and Swift’s public announcement of her support for Harris.

The pop star wrote on Instagram that she supports the Democratic candidate because “she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a fighter to represent them. I think she is a calm, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country when we are led by calm, not chaos.”

The support did not go down well with Trump, who wrote in a post for Truth Social over the weekend: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

There was a category The New York Times reported that they did not know who Swift was or did not care. These 22 percent of voters are mostly men over 65.

Despite her influence on her millions of fans, the singer has never expressed interest in a political career.

However, some would have liked Swift’s lyrics in her hit “The 1” to have a reference to the 2024 presidential election: “It would have been sweet if it could have been me.”
