Zverev and Alcaraz, who is taking part in the show tournament organized by Roger Federer for the first time, will meet for Team Europe in the last match of the evening session against the Americans Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz, who are starting for the world selection. For Zverev, this will be a quick reunion with Fritz, who defeated him in the round of 16 at Wimbledon and in the quarter-finals of the US Open.

The opening match on Friday will be between Casper Ruud and Francisco Cerundolo. In the other singles matches, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Thanasi Kokkinakis as well as Grigor Dimitrov and Alejandro Tabilo will face each other.

There will be a total of twelve matches at the Laver Cup up until Sunday, three singles and one doubles each day. The matches will be played in three sets, which will be counted towards the overall ranking depending on the day of the competition: a win on Friday will earn you one point, two on Saturday and three on Sunday. A team needs 13 points to win overall.
