Kamala Harris sounds like a president

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered an incredible performance in the debate with former President Donald Trump, showing how intelligent and presidential she is compared to her opponent.

Harris demonstrated a thorough understanding of all the issues, while Trump made clear his advanced age and his complete refusal to give complete and truthful answers. In fact, some of his answers were just plain odd, such as illegal immigrants eating American dogs and boasting about his good relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, even as Trump tried to extort favors from Zelensky in return for US aid to Ukraine.

Perhaps Trump’s biggest omission was when asked why he opposed a bipartisan bill that would make illegal immigration at our southern border more difficult. He refused to answer, even though he had lobbied Republicans in Congress to kill that bill and even though he spent the entire debate demonizing President Joe Biden and Harris for doing nothing to stop illegal immigration.

What is it like to be president? At the very least, it is a public service that recognizes and serves the common good and interests of the American people. It is not in one’s own interest to be re-elected president to get out of a pending criminal charge.
