BJCC leaders say Birmingham Amphitheater project is on schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – Community leaders hope the Birmingham Amphitheater will bring talent and taxpayer dollars to the Magic City as early as June 2024.

BJCC officials say the Birmingham Amphitheater project is on schedule and construction is expected to be completed by May 26.

Tad Snider, executive director of the BJCC, says Live Nation will be installing some features on the property at that time, and they expect to be able to attend a show on the property as early as June 2025.

As of now, construction crews estimate they have completed about 18% of construction. At Wednesday’s board meeting, BJCC officials learned that work has begun on nine of the 11 buildings that will be constructed on the site.

“It’s always better to know you’re on schedule. There’s still a lot of work to be done on this project and a lot has to happen between now and next June. We’ve always said we’ll build this thing in a little over a year. Everything’s very encouraging right now, but you can’t really relax until opening day,” Snider said.

The board also discussed the renovation of the various on-site parking garages and efforts to improve the roads surrounding the venue prior to its official opening. Currently, these various projects are also on schedule.
