Aryna Sabalenka enjoys holiday with boyfriend after US Open victory

Aryna Sabalenka has shared photos from her vacation with her boyfriend following her US Open title win. The Belarusian is enjoying a strong run on the tour after losing her third Grand Slam title and regaining the world No. 2 ranking to replace Iga Swiatek as world No. 1.

The 26-year-old is taking a few days off before heading to the Asian Swing, where she will compete in the WTA 1000 China Open starting September 26. In anticipation of the tournament, where she will be seeded number two, Sabalenka spent some time on the beach with her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis and proudly showed off her recent US Open trophy.

Fun off the court: Naomi Osaka, Nick Kyrgios and Ons Jabeur play table tennis

Former world number one Naomi Osaka has released a video of herself playing table tennis alongside Nick Kyrgios and Ons Jabeur at Park Lane in New York. The four-time Grand Slam champion recently split from her coach Wim Fissette and joined forces with Patrick Mouratoglou, the former coach of Serena Williams and Simona Halep.

After being knocked out in the second round of the US Open by Karolina Muchova, the Japanese posted a video of herself facing Kyrgios in table tennis. Ons Jabeur joined the match as Osaka and Kyrgios teamed up for a doubles match. Both have often shown their close friendship off the court, with Kyrgios belonging to Osaka’s agency Evolve. They are also the main investors in the Miami pickleball club.

What is the bravest thing you have done? ATP players tell their stories

In a new ATP video, some of the tour’s top players answered the question “What is the most adventurous or brave thing you have ever done?”, including Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Casper Ruud.

“Probably when I swam with sharks and couldn’t sleep the night before,” says Matteo Berrettini. “It was really great. It was a great experience and I would do it again. It was so beautiful.”

“In Cincinnati, there’s an adventure park, a theme park, right next door, and I’m someone who’s really scared of heights,” Medvedev said. “The first ride was one where your legs are in the air and it’s crazy. I went in not knowing what to expect, with my phone and wallet in the pockets of my tennis shorts. The phone was gone, but the wallet stayed – lucky me! But I didn’t feel good,” the former world number 1 added.

“Having the chance to drive some McLaren models is definitely what I like to do and I enjoy it so much. I enjoy it so much,” said Polish player Hubert Hurkacz. “The easiest thing for me would be to jump out of a plane,” added Grigor Dimitrov. You can watch all the players’ answers in the video below:

Billie Jean King calls for a reform of the scoring system in tennis and player promotion

Billie Jean King has proposed innovative changes for tennis in a new video on her social media: “People constantly ask me about the future of the game we all love and what I would change if I could,” she captioned the post, outlining three revolutionary changes for the future of tennis.

The 12-time Grand Slam champion first suggests changing the points system. “I think it’s hard to get new people into the sport, especially young people. I think we should get rid of the 15-30-40 games. We should have one-two-three-four. If you have to win by two points, then when the score is 3-3 you should score two points in a row or whatever,” she said.

She also advocated for players to wear jerseys with their names and numbers. “We need to promote our players like any other sport. Look at basketball, football or baseball because they have a name and a number,” she added.

The former world number one also felt that men’s and women’s tennis should have the same number of sets. “You get paid for media content and women always get shortchanged because of that,” she concluded.

Roger Federer recalled a memorable moment at the Laver Cup

Roger Federer spoke about his fondest memories of the Laver Cup. The 20-time Grand Slam champion was a driving force behind the tournament’s launch in 2017 and remains actively involved in promoting the event despite his retirement in 2022.

Federer was the centre of attention upon his arrival in Berlin for the 7th Laver Cup. He was seen training with Carlos Alcaraz the day before and spent time with the captains ahead of the tournament, which starts on September 20. Federer spoke about his favourite moments at the Laver Cup: “Being in the dressing room with Novak (Djokovic), Rafa (Nadal) and (Andy) Murray. And my retirement two years ago was incredible. To go out there and feel the support of the best players in the world” is a very, very special feeling.

“I think Team Europe is very strong this year. In the singles matches we are the big favorites and in the doubles I think most of the matches will go in Team World’s favor,” Federer added. “This week is a bit nostalgic and bittersweet because Bjorn (Borg) and John (McEnroe) are not the captains next year. I want them to be really happy this week,” he concluded.

Fritz and Berrettini shine as models at the Boss SS25 show in Milan

Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini stepped into the spotlight as models at the Boss SS 25 show in Milan. The American used the days before the Laver Cup to make a surprise appearance as a model for Hugo Boss, after confirming his partnership with the brand in March this year. In the meantime, the Italians traveled to Japan to take part in the qualifying tournaments for the Tokyo Open.

Fritz and Berrettini recently faced each other in the second round of the US Open, where the American won in straight sets en route to his first Grand Slam final. Berrettini, meanwhile, recently won the ATP 250 KitzbĂĽhel Open, moving up to 43rd in the world rankings.

Photos and videos of the two tennis stars as models for the German clothing brands are circulating on social media.
