JCPD seeks information on large altercation in downtown Johnson City – www.elizabethton.com

JOHNSON CITY – The Johnson City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information to help identify the individuals involved in a large altercation that occurred earlier this month.

On September 1 at 12:11 a.m., JCPD officers responded to reports of a fight involving multiple parties in the 200 block of East Main Street. Officers arrived on scene at 12:14 a.m. but found no active fighting.

After consulting with the Attorney General’s Office, the JCPD launched an investigation into the incident this week. While some victims have come forward, the department is urging others to do the same.

Investigators are trying to identify the people involved through interviews with witnesses and photos and videos of the altercation posted on social media.
