Carsten Arriens has coached Jan-Lennard Struff for years now

“In addition to his intensity and professionalism on the court, Carsten has had an enormous impact on me both personally and humanly, especially off the court,” said the 34-year-old Struff: “Not many players and coaches in tennis work together for nine years. It was an incredibly good time.” I will be forever grateful to him for that.

Under Arriens, who succeeded Ute Strakerjahn and Christoph Reichert in 2015, Struff reached his highest world ranking position of 21st in June 2023 and celebrated his only tournament victory in Munich in May 2024.

This week, Jan-Lennard Struff could celebrate a premiere: The German Davis Cup player has been nominated as a substitute for the European Laver Cup team. The match will take place from Friday to Sunday in the Uber Arena in Berlin.
