Gavin and Stacey’s Christmas special in crisis after “script leak”

It has been revealed that there has been a major script leak on Gavin & Stacey, as a large part of the Christmas special’s plot has been revealed.

Anticipation for the very last episode of the popular comedy series by Ruth Jones and James Corden has grown.

With photographers and fans constantly watching the actors while filming, it’s probably no surprise that a leak occurred in the show.

A photo of 46-year-old James holding a script revealed a major spoiler for the episode.

Now it has been reported that the cast have been told to keep their scripts secret and remain “on high alert” for leaks.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Everyone is looking forward to the return of Gavin, Stacey, Smithy and the gang, so naturally interest is higher than ever.”

“Every day, fans flock to the filming locations in Cardiff and Barry Island to watch the cast filming and take their own photos and selfies.”

“It’s a challenge to keep key storylines secret, but the cast has been reminded to be vigilant.”

Although the cast is currently keeping the plot of the series under wraps, snapshots of the actors on set may have provided clues to certain storylines in the one-off special.

The cast were seen on set in evening wear earlier this month, and the suit and boot outfits led some to believe there might be a wedding in the final episode.

This led many to believe that Smithy and Nessa were getting married – but perhaps Pete and Dawn are just renewing their wedding vows… again.

Fans also spotted Oscar Hartland, the actor who played baby Neil, on set and was unrecognizable as a teenager.

Melanie Walters, who plays Gwen West, was also photographed looking timeless as she returned to the set 17 years after the show’s debut.

The makers have unfortunately confirmed that this Christmas special will be the “very last” episode of Gavin and Stacey – so we can’t wait to find out what they have in store!

The Gavin and Stacey Christmas special airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
