Investigation into Redford shooting underway, witness says children ran out of house screaming

REDFORD TWP., Mich. (FOX 2)An alleged shooting occurred in Redford Township on Tuesday evening, according to a witness who heard a gunshot and saw children running out of a house.

At 7 p.m., a witness was driving past a home in the 20400 block of Lexington when she heard a gunshot there, south of Eight Mile and north of Norfolk Road. Sources say someone in the home was shot by a relative.

She told FOX 2 that she called 911 and then saw between four and five children running out of the house screaming. According to witnesses, one person was arrested while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital.

“We heard and saw a lot of commotion,” said one person who lives in the area. “There was a car full of people over there, and then we pulled into our driveway, and then I called the police, and all the cops came, and the guy started running, and the cops ran and they caught him.”
