Microsoft announces quarterly dividend increase and new share buyback program

Annual General Meeting planned for December 10, 2024

REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 16, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Microsoft Corp. announced Monday that its board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.83 per share, an increase of 8 cents, or 10%, from the prior quarter’s dividend. The dividend will be paid on December 12, 2024, to shareholders of record on November 21, 2024. The ex-dividend date will be November 21, 2024.

The Board of Directors also approved a new share repurchase program that will allow for share repurchases of up to $60 billion. The new share repurchase program has no expiration date and can be terminated at any time.

In addition, the Company announced the date of its 2024 Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled to be held on December 10, 2024. Shareholders arriving at the close of business on September 30, 2024 (the record date) will be entitled to vote their shares.

This year’s annual meeting of shareholders will be held virtually and hosted by Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, Amy Hood, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Brad Smith, Vice Chairman and President, and Sandra E. Peterson, Lead Independent Director of Microsoft.
